Limoges porcelain was born, between 1765 and 1770, from the discovery of kaolin near Limoges, an essential material for the production of this hard and translucent ceramic.
With Sèvres, it is one of the two main porcelain productions in France, and the only one coming from a real production territory, organized around the city of Limoges (Haute-Vienne).
